Dear Jenny,
David's advice is very sound. The builder provides a reliable way to choose physics, and avoids the challenges of building it yourself.
( The need to scrutinise every line to be sure you have a full set of processes. )
With Geant4 9.6, I am told that QBBC_EMY is one of the more reasonable choices for alpha particles. If you have difficulty with the "_EMY", potentially you can use QBBC.
Regard
John

Hello,
Since the last version, we advocate to use the "PhysicList Builder" mechanism, instead of defining your own physics, please look at : http://wiki.opengatecollaboration.org/index.php/Users_Guide_V7.0:Setting_up_the_physics#New_physics_list_mechanism
Sincerely,
David

Dear Gate users,
I've been running a simulation with an alpha surface source. The simulation runs smoothly, no errors or warnings and the results seem reasonable
Still, I have a limited experience simulating alpha particles and want to make sure that I use the correct physics list.
I would greatly appreciate if someone with experience of simulating alpha particles could look at the physics list below and see if something is missing.
Best regards
Jenny Nilsson
