Dear All,

I am writing a macro for simulating a gamma camera using "Gate --qt"
option. This command opens a stand-alone Qt interface. I use "/vis/open
OGLSQt" in checking the volume geometries. If I want to edit some
parameters (like setting the lengths) I have to use the command
"/gate/run/initialize" for the changes to be made effective. My question
is--Is there a better way? It is cumbersome to type
"/gate/run/initialize" over and over again.

More serious difficulty I am facing is that after successfully building a
lot of geometry I had to set the material as Lead. By mistake I typed
"lead" instead of "Lead" and then the whole creen vanished. All my previous
work was lost! Is there a way to save the coding in the Qt interface? I see
"History" and "cout" ad "help" menus; none of these help me to save the
code.

By the way, running Geant4 in the Qt mode brings up a better interface with
some icons appearing on the screen. Using one of these icons, I can run a
macro without having to type a long command. Why do the icons not appear in
the Gate --qt mode?

I am sure there must be better solutions to my difficulties. Can some one
suggest remedies?
