[Gate-users] Materials in Gate

Hi Estelle,

Nothing is preventing you to change the composition of air to what you think it should be. :)

The composition of LYSO in the database is probably not correct for most people, though. The composition of LYSO depends on the ratio of lutetium to yttrium and this ratio varies between manufacturers of LYSO. So there is no right or wrong answer. To know the numbers you should use, you should contact the manufacturer of the LYSO you are tryiing to simulate and ask them for the exact composition.

If you do not know who produces the LYSO that you are trying to simulate, then perhaps you can check the following messages from the mailing list:

http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.science.opengate.user/1481/match=lyso
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.science.opengate.user/3717/match=lyso

Hope this helps,
Marc

Because for example for "Air", it is supposed to be 78.084% of nitrogen, 20.946% of oxygen, 0.934% of argon etc. But in the file, the values stored does not match with these ones. So either there is a mistake or an other calculation, which make me wonder if the ratios for the material I want to use (LYSO) are correct, and if so how are they calculated.
