I was able to successfully install gate v7.0 on ubuntu 12.04 lts 32bit. According to the instruction of the wiki. http://wiki.opengatecollaboration.org/index.php/New_Compilation_ProcedureV7.0

Dears users,
 
I am using Gate V6.2 on a  virtual machine. Because the simulation time is very long, I would try to install Gate 7.0 on a native Linux environment. Can you suggest me which version of Linux is better for this purpose?
