Ahmed,

GATE needs to look at a specific file that comes with the download called
GateMaterials.db in order to know the properties of the materials being
used in your simulations. You are getting this error because GATE is
looking in the wrong place for the file and thus has no idea what the
materials in your simulation are. There should be a line in the macros for
the simulation you are running that says
"/gate/geometry/setMaterialDatabase".

You need to find GateMaterials.db, copy it's location and then change that
line to say "/gate/geometry/setMaterialDatabase <location of
GateMaterials.db>. The file should be in the folder you created when you
first installed GATE, you are free to copy it wherever you would like and
then direct the macro there as well.

Best of luck!
