Dear GATE users,
there is one PhD position availble to work on Monte Carlo Simulations
in PET at the Werner Siemens Imaging Center of the Eberhard Karls
Universität Tübingen (Germany).
The topic of the PhD work is Small Animal Positron Emission Tomography
(PET). The successful candidate will carry out research on novel PET
detectors and prototypes, to be integrated into a Magnetic Resonance
(MR) device.
The PhD work will combine programming, algorithm development and
modelling with experimental work.
Candidates with a Master degree (or equivalent) in physics, biomedical
engineering, electrical engineering, or a related area are invited to
apply. Prior experience in programming as well as a solid background
in any of the following fields is required: medical physics using
ionising radiation; radiation or nuclear physics; Monte-Carlo
simulations, or/and image reconstruction. Familiarity with Monte-Carlo
simulations codes (Geant4, GATE), data analysis, and/or mathematical
modelling is also valued.
The deadline for applications is May 23, 2014.
