[Gate-users] Geant4 error in vGate 6.2 when using NEMA_IEC_2001.mac

Hi Simon,

Found it, thanks! :) In 'NEMA_IEC_2001.mac' setRmin was not defined for some spheres and structures. I guess the default value for setRmin used to be 0 in older versions of Gate/Geant4 and is set to 1 in recent versions? I have explicitly defined setRmin to be 0 and it works!

Thanks again,

Floris

Hi Floris,

You have a minimum radius higher than the maximum radius ;-)

Cheers,
Simon

Dear all,

I'm rather new with Gate and am trying to simulate the NEMA IEC 2001 phantom from the opengate website (NEMA_IEC_2001.mac). I'm running the Virtual Machine of Gate (vGate 6.2). When trying to visualize the phantom in vGate, I get the following Geant4 error:

[Core-0] Initialization of geometry

-------- EEEE ------- G4Exception-START -------- EEEE -------
*** G4Exception : GeomSolids0002
      issued by : G4Sphere::G4Sphere()
Invalid radii for Solid: sphere10_solid
        pRmin = 10, pRmax = 6
*** Fatal Exception *** core dump ***
-------- EEEE -------- G4Exception-END --------- EEEE -------

I couldn't find a solution on the mailing list, but I was hoping someone has experienced the same problem and has found a way to solve it. Does anyone know how to solve this error?

Thank you in advance,

Kind regards,
