As far as I know, Gate gives the position of optical photon which is having
maximum energy i.e it uses energy centroid logic (you can cross check this
in GateOpticalAdder.cc and GateOpticalAdder.hh which is there in
/gate6.1/source/digits_hits/include and /src folders). And for the energy
of the scintillated gamma ray, is it energy of gamma ray ? or energy of
photon ? If it is energy of gamma ray then try checking for energy of hits
(in ascii hits file where PhotoElectric is written) and energy of optical
singles (given in terms of number of optical photons) which has the same
event I.D ( I am not sure about this ) and If it is energy of scintillated
photon then the ascii optical singles file gives it in terms of number of
photons, if you set optical adder verbose > 1, then you can see while
simulating, that the energy of the photons getting added (in terms of e.v)
according to energy centroid logic. I am also new to gate may be others can
correct me if I am wrong.
