[Gate-users] The command for attachment of the source to a volume does not work!

Hi Shahla!

>From your description, your macro looks fine.

I use the attachTo command in Gate 6.1 all the time and it works fine for me, so there must be something else going on here.

Did you take a look at the output of your simulation? Does it look like the source is moving? Maybe the OpenGLSX visualization simply does not update the source position on the display?

If someone else from the mailing list has suggestions, feel free to chip in!

Marc

Hi Marc,

I defined a cylindrical volume as a CT scanner gantry and named it CTscanner. Then I wrote the following command to attach the source which I had defined previously to my CTscanner:
/gate/source/xraygun/attachTo CTscanner
After that I used below commands to orbit the CTscanner:
/gate/CTscanner/moves/insert orbiting
/gate/CTscanner/orbiting/setSpeed 360 deg/s
/gate/CTscanner/orbiting/setPoint1 0 0 0 cm
/gate/CTscanner/orbiting/setPoint2 0 0 1 cm

I had also set the timing. During executing the macro no error message related to the attachment command appears, but in the OpenGLSX window I saw that the source did not orbit while the CTscanner and other elements which were attached to the CTscanner orbited together. I checked the user guide and my macro but I could not find the reason. So, I've concluded that the command does not work!
Is there something which I do not consider?

Thanks,
Shahla

Hi!

You have to be more specific. How exactly did it fail to work? How can you tell that it did not work? Was there an error message?

It might be a good idea to post your macro, too.

Cheers!
Marc

Dear Gate-users,

During my CT simulation, I found that the command for attachment of the
source to a volume does not work:
/gate/source/[source name]/attachTo [volume name]
Is there something which I do not consider?

Thanks.
