Objet : [Gate-users] The GateLab is out !

Hello,

Want to speed up your Gate simulations ?

We are proud today to announce the first public release of the *GateLab* system
!

The *GateLab* allows you to submit* right now* your GATE simulations on
clusters of workstations from a simple web page. The main features are :
- upload your main macro file from the web browser, the system will detect
and upload all additional need files.
- launch your GATE simulation with few clicks, it will be executed with *tens
of computers in parallel* (hundreds in certain cases), using the EGI
European Grid Infrastructure.
- monitor your simulation while drinking a coffee
- once terminated, upload the results, automatically merged from all the
parallel jobs, to your workstation.

Even if these promises are exciting, there are of course some limitations.
First and more importantly, remember that this system is a *research project
* and not a commercial service. It must be considered as in "beta mode" and
subject to changes or dysfunctions at any time. That said, we have working
hard to provide such a system and hope that the *GateLab* will help you to
do good research with GATE.

Go to http://www.opengatecollaboration.org/GateLab, *please read the doc*, ask
for a login and start to compute !

On behalf of the GateLab group,
David Sarrut

PS : I want to warmly thanks all contributors : Sorina Camarasu, Tristan
Glatard, Pierre Gueth, Rafael Silva, Sebastien Jan, Didier Benoit, George
Loudos, Panagiotis Papadimitroulas, and all beta-testers !
