[Gate-users] Sinogram in Gate

Bassim,
The route I took to do this was to use GATE example PET_Ecat_system.mac which uses a small phantom to generate Ecat7 sinograms.
The sinograms can be fed directly into STIR but the Sinogram header files are of different standards so you use one of the STIR utilities to
provide a STIR compatible header file.
I didn't find a way of inspecting the sinograms on the GATE side of things but after adding a header there is a very basic STIR utility which
displays the sinograms.
Note that the phantom in the example is extremely small and positioned exactly in the center of the field of view so the singrams are not
very interesting! I increased the length of the line source to 10 cm and re-positioned it off centre.
On the STIR side I started with the sample parameter file for the OSMAPOSL (it has a rather long name which I now forget.)
Hope this helps.

Subject: [Gate-users] Sinogram in Gate
Hallo Gate user,
I am a new user in Gate. I am using now the vGate version 6.1 and I have
already simulated a PET system. I got a root file as output after
finishing my simulation. I want now to generate a Sinogram from the
created root file in order to use it in STIR software for the PET image
reconstruction. Can anyone tell how I can overcome this issue in Gate. I
would be appreciate for your replay. I would be happy for hits and replay.
Best regards,
B. Aklan
