Hello Lupa,

My understanding is that the position of the source is independent of the
position of the phantom volumes, unless you specifically attach or confine
the source to one of the phantom volumes.

The location of the cold area for the purposes of the Forbid command is
independent of the source position. The coordinates of the cold area are
set with respect to the coordinates of its mother volume, and in your case
the world volume is the mother volume. You should try to avoid overlapping
volumes. If there is a small area you'd like to forbid inside a medium area
of activity, set the source to be the same size as the medium area and then
make the small area a daughter of the medium area and then use the forbid
command on the small area.

Lastly, it is possible to have a source without a phantom.
