[Gate-users] No fluorescence in v6.1 ??

Hi again,

I will try to be more specific with my question. I attached some images to depict the issue.

I am using a simple geometry with a pixelated detector irradiatied by a beam of 100keV. 
Now in Gate v6.1 I use the livermore model as described in my initial post. This indeed has x-ray fluorescence enabled by default as it can be seen in the attached file called hits_v61.png (this is the energy depostion obtained from the hits file).

However, getting the energy spectrum from the Singles file gives only one peak at 100 keV see file singles_v61.png.

The problem is that when I run the same simulation (geometry etc) using Gate v5 low energy I get the spectrum shown in  singles_v5.png


I hope that this clarified the issue that I am dealing with. Any help would be appreciated!

Further to my first post, I noticed that other users have problems with
the Low Energy processes.

In fact I have the exact same problem described by Ernest Galbrun in his
post in 20/6/2011

Would anyone from the developing team provide any information regarding
this issue?

Hi all,

I just installed Gate v6.1 and tried to run a simple simulation with low
energy physics in to observe fluorescence. However the command below
produced a warning of 'Unknown process'

/gate/physics/addProcess LowEnergyPhotoElectric
 <!> *** WARNING *** <!>  Unknown process: LowEnergyPhotoElectric

I then used this command: /gate/physics/addProcess PhotoElectric with
the Livermore model but no fluorescence was apparent in the output
spectrum (as expected).

So am I doing something wrong with the physics? My full physics list is
below:
