[Gate-users] obtaining the data of a one dimensional histogram or energy spectrum of a tree

Dear all
I am a new user in GATE and I have a root file of a simulated SPECT system
with  many ambiguities .

1-first of all what is the difference between trees like Hits and Hits;591
or Singles;104 Singles;105 and so on which are included in the root file?
2-secondly , I have a branch in Singles named energy which is a energy
spectrum of radioactive source(s) and I am going to
  obtain its data content of all its channels or bins in text format (the
profile of the counts, name of the process which has generated them etc.)
I have searched root talk forum for it and I couldn't find something.
