Wow!
Where can I start sending you love letters?
You have no idea what you did for me. I'm a very unexperienced
programmer, in particular as far as fiddling with system configuration
is concerned ... I have managed to make Qt interface in Gate to start
(a year ago), but I had no idea how to make it actually work. And your
app is absolutely magnificent ... It just worked. Out of the box.
It is true that I didn't try out any complex stuff yet and I did have
some minor problems that I need to sort out, but the sole fact that it
works ... WOW!
I still didn't get it how you managed to create a binary that doesn't
even depend on Qt, or any other single library or framework apart from
the system ones. Whenever I tried to create static binaries with
Geant4, I always ran into numerous problems and everyone explained me
that I should just use the default installation (since no other is
well tested enough to actually work). Half an hour ago I tried to
install Geant4 on Ubuntu and I wasn't even able to enable Qt
(configure script didn't manage to find some bits and pieces).
Are you part of Gate team or just a big fan of Gate? I would like to
suggest to the Gate team to add this Mac application to the main
homepage of Gate. (If it is not a secret, I'm also very interested to
see the source of your work once the dust settles.)
Congratulation and thanks again,
Mojca
Just curious (a question for the Gate team): Is it possible to get the
source of Gate's logo somewhere to make a better resolution picture?
