[Gate-users] About the job splitter and supported platforms

Dear GATE users,

I am a novice user of Gate and I have some questions about the
parallel version of Gate.

Is it possible perform simulations with the mac files that are
generated by the job splitter on an unsupported platform, for example
on Sun Grid Engine. Also do the generated mac files that are submitted
require a parallel environment (some mpi variation(?)) on part of the
platform. I do not currently have access to an functioning
installation of Gate/job splitter so I'm trying to just gather
information beforehand.
 I have read the documentation and there is no reference to a parallel
environment. The term parallel is used frequently though, but does it
refer to the "embarrassingly parallel" form of parallelism
(independent computations) or regular parallelism where the
computations must be able to exchange information?
