[Gate-users] Gate on Windows OS (Sensoy, Levent)

Hi Levent,

I had the same problems as you. But after a few obstacles (during the Gate installation), now I have the GATE v5.0.0 working in the Windows OS (Vista). I'll tell you the steps I took:

1 - First I installed the Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition (according to the instructions of the PDF guide "GATE-Installation-Guide-for-XP-and-Vista");
    (It was downloaded from: http://superdownloads.uol.com.br/download/176/visual-c-2005-express-edition/  ) 
    (After several Google searches, I just found the proper installation on this site)

    1.1 - Then I installed the Services Packs required for Windows Vista:

	1.1.1 - Visual C++ 2005 Express Editions SP1;
	(It was downloaded from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=7B0B0339-613A-46E6-AB4D-080D4D4A8C4E&displaylang=en )
        (The file is:  "VS80sp1-KB926748-X86-INTL.exe")

	1.1.2 - Visual Studio 2005 SP1 Update for Windows Vista;
	(It was downloaded from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=90E2942D-3AD1-4873-A2EE-4ACC0AACE5B6&displaylang=en )
	(The file is: "VS80sp1-KB932232-X86-ENU.exe")
     
    1.2 - In the end, don't forget to start once (the MS Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition) to set environment variables.

2 - After I installed the Windows Server 2003 SP1 Platform SDK.  
    (It was downloaded from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A55B6B43-E24F-4EA3-A93E-40C0EC4F68E5&displaylang=en )

3 - Finally I followed the instructions in the PDF guide that I send attached (because I made some changes/corrections in the original guide)

I think that's all. Don't forget to change the paths according to your own program directories.
