Hi, Mario,

When you do such a comparison, are you sure:

1, geometry is the same?
2, material definition is the same?
3, physics list is the same?
4, the interaction range cut is the same?
5, how do you define the singles in GATE and Geant4?

I also noticed that the total entry in GATE spectrum plot is only 2455 but you mentioned there are 3713. Where are others?

Hi all,

I'm comparing the results obtained with GATE (4.0.0) and Geant4
(4.9.1.p01) for the interaction of gamma rays (511 keV) with a LYSO
crystals. In a previous email, I already mentioned that there is some
differences concerning the photoelectric fraction.
The numbers below are the results of a LYSO crystal already defined in
the GATE list of materials.

Geant4 GATE

Number of generated gammas : 50000 49805
Number of detected singles: 4511
                    3713
Photoelectric fraction:
30% 23.3%

I attached the two different spectra obtained with GATE and Geant4.
If anyone has the same problem or can be explain this difference, please
help.

Thanks in advance.
Mario
