Dear Green,

I do not understand what 'three programs' in your e-mail means.

Is it Gate program? Or Simulation?

And you said about two kinds of settings.

But you did not mention about what setting.

Detail it more.

FYI, 2000000000 bytes is 1907 giga byte.

Therefore, It seems no problem with sizelimit option.

Anyway, why don't you use ROOT file?

ROOT is compressed and much faster than ASCII.

Let's dig more~

Subject: [Gate-users] Large files: automatic file swap for the ASCII output

 Dear gaters:

In the "UsersGuide_v3.1.1",it is said that:By default the file limit is
fixed to 2000000000 bytes.

I've run gate programs without extra command about output. The size of
file named "gateHits.dat" is so strange :

There are three programs with two kinds of settings. The size of one is
18.1GB.Another two have the same setting except the time .But the size of
them are both 3.3GB.

I'll appreciate for your help.
