the LMF code on the STIR web-site is unfinished, and was intended as a basis
for a working version only. My understanding is that there is a newer
version of this on the GATE web-site (but I haven't had the time to check).
I'm not 100% sure which version you are using.

The stir listmode code has evolved a tiny little bit. It is entirely
possible that the LMF.zip on the STIR website was written before that
change, and so maybe the same for the STIR-lmf code on the GATE website. If
you're using the GATE version and it doesn't compile/run, we/you can fix it.
Required changes should be nearly trivial.
