I keep getting delivery failed messages whenever I sent email to the
address.

You absolutely are right that I put the wrong data type, it is ints
instead of floats, therefore number of bytes per pixel was wrong, it is
2 instead of 4.  Ross at our department pointed that out.  Now, STIR can
read the header and image files of the CT scan I used for GATE
simulation.
