[Gate-users] Merging root files without gjm

Hello All,
For various reasons, gjm does not work on some root files (last
event id problems), but my problem is more than just fixing gjm. I
have a more general question.
I would like to extract some values from several root files and make a
new files. There seems to be so many trees of information in the root
file (singles, hits, positron energy, coincidences, ...) but I would
like to open the coincidences tree, extract just the energy, detection
position and the time info and write it to a root file. My other
analysis programmes hinge on reading a root file, so I would like make
a root file instead of a binary file.
Has anyone done this? Any pointers about making a customised root
file? It seems that it may be faster to look at someone template and
write my own code than pouring through the bulky root manual.
Thanks,
Karthik.
