Dear Gaters.

I am a novice to Gate and Linux, so my question is elementary. I had the
Gate 3.0.0 and GEANT4 8.0 and other parts compiled and I can run Gate
command from its home directory. I can get PreInit> prompt after a series of
communications which are as in UserGuide. When I try to run /control/execute
benchmarkPET.mac I get the message that .mac file cannot be found, if I
specify full path to benchmarkPET.mac then the .mac inside it cannot run. If
I start Gate from a directory at which benchmarkPET.mac is located, Gate
fails to start correctly end exits, because it cannot find materials
database. Gate main directory is in PATH variable, what is wrong? I cannot
find the relevant information in installation or user guide. I run RedHat
Enterprise Linux and bash shell.

Best regards
