Dear Samuel,

It works for small root files...

however, it does not work for big root files, though...

Is it a problem with memory size?

I set the memory 768M on my vmware machine...

I set the memory 1536M to test memory size...but I got the same error...T__T

Dear MJ,

I have also lot of problems with gjm.
One 'easy' solution is to do a 'fast merge' with gjm and the to use a TChain
under ROOT to post-process your (multiple files) data.

Pro : it works, no need to update any code
Cons : files 25% bigger, not very fun

Hope it will help you,

regards,

Dear Jan,

I attached a file with sample root, macro files and gjm also.

I tried with small root files...
[My real root files are over 600M]

It said a little bit different message...

shell> ../gate_v3.1.2/Cluster_Tools/filemerger/gjm mj_test.mac
Combining: /home/turbo978/crosstalk/act21.root
/home/turbo978/crosstalk/act22.root -> act2.root

Subject: [Gate-users] filemerger BUG

Hi,

I think I have found an error in the filemerger gjm:

In the method

bool GateMergeManager::MergeTree(string chainName){

in file src/GateMergeManager.cc I believe a 'return' is missing on line 467
which should IMHO look like this:

if(chainName=="Gate") return MergeGate(chain);

Otherwise it will run into the error
"Cannot find one of: runID, eventID, time in Gate" (line 482)

Regards,
Hannes

so I change the source as the mail said...
but, I still got this error message...

Is my linux wierd? T__T

Thanks,
MJ
