Hello,

I have problems with my GATE calculations of a PET Scanner (ECAT HR+):
The phantom in the center of the scanner is a cylinder
(radius 8 cm, height 9 cm) with 3 spheres (radius 1, 1.5, 2 cm) inside.
I put different activity (F18 ion source) in the spheres and the cylinder
to investigate object/background contrast ratios.
The activity density is between 10 and 100 kBq/ccm and the output
is restricted to 2 ASCII files (Run and Coincidences).

Unfortunately, the simulation crashes after some hours
with:

 *** Break *** segmentation violation

*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x00000000015ffdc8 ***

When I start with a different random initialization, the simulation failed
with the same error message but at a different time.

Does anyone know how this could happen or what is the reason for this
kind of crash?

Thanx in advance,

Regards, Soeren.
