No, the "system number" is just an ID for the different types of ECAT scanners. This is something internal to the ecat family and is only relevant if you are using reconstruction software for ecat systems. I do not think you should worry about this number.

I think system number means "number of crystal / ring", right?

Subject: [Gate-users] camera ID
Hi gaters
In the gate output using ECAT model, there are "set camera ID for user
specific camera"
For example (in Gate collaboration example code written by Sebastien)
/gate/output/ecat7/system 962 (for HR+)
/gate/output/ecat7/system 504 (for P4)
In the GATE manual, this information can be needed by ecat7 based
reconstruction routines.
I would like to know how I can get that information of another microPET
series or ECAT system series.
2nd question is
In my simulation, there are abrupt errors like following message
***********************************************************
>> entering [GateToSinogram::RecordBeginOfRun]
Frame ID = 1
Killed
***********************************************************
Could you comment about that?
Best regards
