Your issue with the jobsplitter has been solved. It should be working
now. It was a small 64bit incompatibility.

As long as GATE doesn't use threads, a single instance won't run 
on two cores at the same time. You should be able to start two 
instances of GATE without any problem though. If you use the cluster
version of GATE with openmosix output, you'll be able to split your
simulation over two or four cores. You don't even need to install
openmosix for that.
