Dear GATE users,
I can not install Gate3.0.0 in my new 64bit computer (Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 4 WS). I have the error messages:
"...Linking Gate...
usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so when
searching for -lXt
usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.a when
searching for -lXt
usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lXt.
collect 2: ld returned 1 exit status "
The same problem I have had when I was trying to install the latest version
of Root from the source:
"...
usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.so when
searching for -lXpm
usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.a when
searching for -lXpm
usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lXpm "
For some reason the compiler ignore Xpm and Xt libraries in my computer
(The same result I have, when I used the pre-build version of Xpm library
from ftp://root.cern.ch/root/xpm and when I try install the previous
version of root). Finally I installed pre-build version of Root and it
works.
Is it a problem with the Motif library (or do I need the openMotif
library?). What version (and what lib) have to be installed in my system?
Does anybody have any idea how to fix it?
Thank you
Serg
