[Gate-users] Problem Installing Root

Hi all,
     I am new to the GATE and trying to get going with everything actually I
have Fedora Core 2 ; Geant 4.8.1.po1 ; gate v.3.0.0 clhep 1.9.2.3 and gcc
3.3.3 . I tried installing root_v5.12.00.Linux.FedoraCore3.ggc3.4.3 which I
got from root.cern.ch . But it didnt work for me I am not sure if I am not
using the right version of Root or anything else is wrong. Please suggest
what should I do.
     One other thing I wanted to ask is how can I build the Beam source I
dont have any example or help with the Beam or other type of sources.
