Dear Gate users,
Has anybody installed Gate using gcc2.96 before? I am trying to install
Gate on cluster supercomputers called VAPAC. But the gcc version running
on VAPAC is 2.96 while the required gcc version of Gate for installing
is at least 3.2
I got the following error messages with gcc2.96 during Gate compiling:
Compiling GateDistributionManualMessenger.cc ...
Compiling GateDistributionMessenger.cc ...
src/GateDistributionMessenger.cc:76: prototype for `G4String
GateDistributionMessenger::withUnity (double, G4String)' does not match
any in class `GateDistributionMessenger'
include/GateDistributionMessenger.hh:42: candidate is: G4String

src/GateDistributionMessenger.cc:77: parse error before `;'
src/GateDistributionMessenger.cc:79: `ss' undeclared (first use this
function)
src/GateDistributionMessenger.cc:79: (Each undeclared identifier is
reported only once for each function it appears in.)
make: *** [/home/san05/jianfeng/geant4/geant4.7.0.p01/tmp/Linux-g+
+/Gate/GateDistributionMessenger.o] Error 1
Is it a problem about the compatibility between gcc2.96 and gcc3.2?
Would appreciate your suggestions or experiences!
Jianfeng
