Hi Yun,
That's not normal at all. Gate typically uses very little memory (<40
Mb) unless using voxelized geometries. What are your Linux, root,
CLHEP, GATE, and Geant4 versions?

Subject: [gate-users] benchmarkPET
Hi,
Does anybody run successfully the example benchmarkPET coming with
GATE package. When I simulated this example, I had to set very very
huge swap space ~50G; but simulation always died with message "Aborted
(core dumped)". The core file is about 2G. Are these situations
normal? I'm a novice for GATE. It's grateful for any help for me.
Thanks.
Yun
