Sorry guys,

I haven't really been using GATE since I compiled it sometime around
Christmas. I think I did something a bit different to Pierre. I compiled
GATE in usermode. That is, everything was compiled into the default
users home directory. This home directory resided on a NFS drive. The
whole setup makes it a bit hard to distribute as an iso image.

The reason why I chose the home directory was because I noticed that
many people put the source code, binary code and user data in the same
directoy. This makes sense for people who want to make modifications to
Gate or any other dependant package.

The reason why I chose a NFS drive was because I wanted the ROOT output
to be available quickly and easily. I also thought it might make things
easier if I want to concatenate monte carlo simulations that have been
run at different locations.

There are two things I should probably do:
1) Look into distributing the compiled code such that it can be untarred
into the /home/knoppix directory.
2) Look into providing instructions on how to boot knoppix so that the
user's home dir is on a NFS drive.

In the meantime I might have a look at Pierre's remaster of Knoppix.

Thank you Pierre.
