Sorry for the late answer.
You can rotate the cylinder with the GPS commands 'posrot1', 'posrot2'.
To get only the half cylinder, you can then use 'confine'.

to get an exhaustive description of GPS. Please note that the command
syntax changed slightly in the last version of GPS compared to the one
included in GATE. But the features offered are the same.
I will try to upgrade GATE to the latest version of GPS as soon as
possible.
