<p>I have no experience with SPECT, only PET, so I can't give you exact details or code, but the main issues should be the same. You can import GATE ASCII files into Matlab with the dlmread command. This will make a matrix of the ASCII file. After that you
need to collect all the events from the same detector (accumarray can be helpful). Then you either form an observation vector or a sinogram and use that in whatever algorithm you wish to test.</p>

<p>Hopefully that will help. As I mentioned above, I've done this with ASCII PET data and have working Matlab codes for that, but they aren't compatible with SPECT data.</p>
