[Gate-users] Segmenting in Gate

Hi all

I've finally got to grips with using Gate and I've managed to make some pretty interesting dose distributions within both phantom and patient PET/CT images. The next stage that I want to look at involves calculating some bespoke S-factors for my images. I could very well be wrong, but I don't think Gate has any ability to determine the location of the source of a dose event (please correct me if there is such an actor or something), so I imagine the only/best way to approach this is to manually outline my images outside of Gate and then mask the various areas and run the simulations in turn.

I was wondering if anyone had any hints, tips, or anything other comments that might be able to speed up what might end up being quite a manual and labour intensive process? I was planning on using ImageJ to segment, but I'm not sure if it is the most suitable tool either, so any suggestions on alternatives would be gratefully received.

Thank you
