[Gate-users] Unable to Complete Test Simulation

Hi Amy,

I'm not sure if there is any way to see the tracks anymore. The visualization used to auto-update, but this was taken out a few versions ago. Now, you have to use /gate/geometry/rebuild to refresh your visualization. This might be why you are not seeing any tracks. Of course, once your simulation is done, it's too late to give the rebuild command. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please.

As for the output containing nothing, I suggest you try the PET benchmark macro, but change the acquisition time to only 1 second (so you don't wait hours for it to run). This should generate a small Root file. If this works, then I would not worry about the example.

Marc

Hello all,

I am a beginner and I was trying to work through the example simulation given in the beginning of the GATE v6.2 User's Guide. I am currently using vGATE. I was able to follow the example all the way up until the end. After setting "/gate/application/setTotalNumberOfPrimaries 100" and then "/gate/application/start" I get the following message:

[Acquisition-0]
[Acquisition-0]=========Source Initialization=========
[Acquisition-0]
[Acquisition-0]=========Acquisition starts!==========
[Acquisition-0] Simulation start time = 0 sec
[Acquisition-0] Simulation end time  = 1 sec
[Acquisition-0] Simulation will have   = 1 run(s)
[Acquisition-0]
[Acquisition-0] Slice 0 from 0 to 1 s [slice=1 s], final stop at 1 s.
WARNING: G4VisManager::EndOfEvent: Automatic event keeping suspended.
The number of events in the run exceeded the maximum, 100, that can be kept by the vis manager.
The number of events kept by the vis manager can be changed with "/vis/scene/endOfEventAction accumulate <N>", where N is the maximum number you wish to allow. N < 0 means "unlimited".
100 events have been kept for refreshing and/or reviewing

Also, none of the output data files generated contain anything, nor does the visualization show any tracks, like Figure 1.8 does in the User's Guide.

Any help? I would like to know that I am able to run this example before creating my own simulations.

Thank you,

Amy
