[Gate-users] Mac File in Gate

Hi Bassim!

When asking for help on the user list, it's good practice to include as many details as possible. You said you have tried to "read" the mac file but that it did not work. What happened? Was there an error message on the screen? What was the message?

In this case it's probably not relevant, but including information about your configuration such as the version of Gate, your operating system, etc., is also useful.

And to answer your question, yes, you need to tell Gate where your macro file is. For example, if the macro file is currently in the directory from which you are calling Gate, you would type:

>Gate ./your_macro_file.mac

Don't forget to set your environment variables and the path for Gate, too. (My example assumes that Gate is in your path.)

I hope this helps!
Marc
