[Gate-users] Is a generic trapezoid shape available?

Hello,
If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. I would like to implement a generic trapezoid in gate. I've found four posts relating to trapezoids: 28mar2008, 21nov2007, 14dec2005, and 13dec2004. The first two are without responses, while the post on 14dec2005 is a response to the last listed, and addresses my problem; specifically, I would like the "...source files that add that shape to Gate..." (see post).

To restate: I would like to use a generic trapezoid, which seems unavailable; though I've found GateTrapCreator.cc, GateTrapCreatorMessenger.cc, and corresponding header files in the source code directory. The gate user's manual states (p. 30), "Gate provides the class GateTrapCreator to create and insert trapezoidal volumes..." I have not discovered how to implement this class in the construction of my own geometries.

The trpd shape is available, but is a rather limited shape allowing for an extruded box which is not what I need.

It is interesting (to me, anyway) that the wedge volume is motivated (in part) by the difficulty encountered creating a "trapezoid," with its "eleven parameters." The generic trapezoid in geant4 contains eleven parameters as does gate's trpd shape. trpd construction appears rather simple and intuitive, while my experiences with generic trapezoids have been rather painful ones. It seems reasonable that the "trapezoid" referred to is the generic trapezoid, but it is not available.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

-Jason
