[gate-users] benchmarkPET

Hi Yun,

One last thought. A long while back I had a really strange problem
where a hidden character was in some of my mac files. GATE would run
and crash for no apparent reason. I copied the old mac files to
*.mac_old, opened them and cut and paste the contents into new files
named *.mac. This procedure removed the hidden characters and the mac
files ran fine. It's a long shot but it is easy to do.

Yun,

I had a similar core dump issue (on a completely different system) and
I narrowed down the problem to optimization flag settings used with the
compiler. If you still have these troubles, you may try compiling GATE
with a different flag or no optimization.
