Thanks for the help - particularly appreciate your confirming that the 02 patch works ok.

I did just now look at ccmake with the "t" option and there were a bunch of "NOT FOUND' errors that appeared. I went back to vGate on a Windows machine, though, to compare and did the same thing, since vGate is, presumably, a fully functional install (at least /vis/open OGLSX doesn't produce an error). Even with the "t" option, the two were essentially identical. ccmake with vGate had all of the same "NOT_FOUND" messages and even one or two more (for some minor X11files).

I would suggest you to use Qt instead (OGLSQt/OGLIQt), but that's
off-topic and it doesn't seem that you have that one installed either.

Unless I'm mistaken this all depends exclusively on Geant4, so maybe
the Geant4 forum is a more appropriate place to ask about problems
related to Geant4 installation. To me the "ccmake" never lied and if
you press [t] to toggle the advanced mode (or inspect the resulting
CMakeCache.txt), you should be able to see if the configuration failed
to find some required libraries. For me setting
-DGEANT4_USE_OPENGL_X11=ON seems to be sufficient.

You should not bother about finding patch 01. Patch 02 should work
just fine, even Geant4 9.6 mostly works.
