I have few doubts regarding Dielectric_metal surfaces for optical photon detection.

1. Consider photons are moving from a crystal to PMT, and there is a Dielectric_metal surface between them. My doubt is, will the R.I of PMT matters or only the efficiency, reflectivity of the surface matters ?

2. Let the crystal and PMT be daughter volumes of SPECThead system. I have defined a Dielectric_metal surface between PMT and crystal and ran a macro, I got photons detected by the Dielectric_metal surface at the PMT and crystal junction ( -1.709e+02 in mm ). Next time I defined a Dielectric_metal surface between PMT and SPECThead, even then I got photons detected by the surface at PMT and crystal junction ( -1.709e+02 in mm ). Is this expected ?
