imaging

Immediate opening for a post-doctoral
fellow at the « Imaging and Modeling in Neurobiology and Cancerology
» lab, UMR 8165 CNRS Paris 7 University - Paris 11 University,
Orsay, France

Our research group is looking for a talented researcher whose
responsibilities would primarily include the modeling of a modular
high resolution and high sensitivity SPECT system for small animal
imaging based on solid state detectors, and the development and
implementation of dedicated reconstruction algorithms.

Our project is building a SPECT prototype shaped as a set of modules
for detection and collimation with the capability of being exchanged
and removed, depending on the type of experiments. The detection
modules will be based on specially designed CZT detectors with
depth-of-interaction measurements. Tuned reconstruction algorithms
will be developed to make the best of the detector capabilities. The
project also includes the assessment of the prototype for cardiac,
brain and cancer imaging applications in collaboration with three
INSERM and CEA validation centers. We are looking for researchers who
have experience in:
simulations,
-<x-tab> </x-tab>Detector and collimator
design,
-<x-tab> </x-tab>Tomographic
reconstruction algorithms.

This is an exciting 3 year project which will provide opportunities
for both basic research as well as development/deployment of fully
functional prototypes for biological applications, in close
collaboration with several teams of physicists (CNRS, CEA-LETI,
Biospace lab), computer scientists and physicians (INSERM, CEA).
The ANR-funded (French Research Agency) post-doctoral position is for
18 months renewable for 3 years. The successful candidate will be
based at the « Imaging and Modeling in Neurobiology and Cancerology
» research lab, UMR 8165 CNRS Paris 7 University - Paris 11
University, in the Orsay campus (20 km south of Paris),
France.
