It has to do with an incompatibility between the version of OpenGL libraries these specific distributions currently support and the version Geant4 and GATE expects. This particular problem can be solved by downloading the OpenGL library from the web site of the OpenGate collaboration. You can visit the registered users area of the OpenGATE web site (<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://opengatecollaboration.healthgrid.org">http://opengatecollaboration.healthgrid.org</a>) and click on user links (below the Documantation and source code link). There you can download the file: <a href="http://opengatecollaboration.healthgrid.org/GATEusers/download.php?doc=libG4OpenGL.a.gz">libG4OpenGL.a.gz</a> Extract it and copy the library file libG4OpenGL.a at the directory where the rest of the GL libraries (libGL  libGLU etc) of your distribution are located. In case of Fedora versions 6 or higher the directory is: /usr/lib After that you need to recompile Geant4 and GATE.
